The Workshop of Long Tr'ang Tucked in a crook of the Redwood, far from the daily traffic of Rangers, sits a small workshop and trading post. This small store has been hidden for many years and is “known only to those whose dedication to the way is known.” Most young Rangers don’t realize it, but on the very first day they set foot into the guild, after having told Seth about their experience with the Spiritual Stag, their name is submitted to the guild’s bow smiths. The bow smiths work in small workshops in the tree, crafting bows and fletching arrows for the guild members. Some teach their craft while others merely sit every day, consumed by their artful expertise, hunched over small and large crescents of woods drawn of every tree known. One legendary Ranger, bowman of lore and honored bow smith, Long Tra’ng, works on a special type of bow. His mentor and teacher, Whitefeather, has entrusted him with the special task of creating the Ironwood Ranger Bows, which are strung with a special type of string. The old bow smith’s guide says this about the bow: “The bow most young Rangers dream of and look forward to hold in their hands one day. You need to have reached at least your 41st milestone in the land, climbed the 40th rank of the Rangers Guild and will then be able to find a hidden.. the parchment grows faded here, and you cannot read more until the next paragraph… “The IRB holds a flame enchantment and several charges of the HASTE spell which can be recharged at a quest in the Guild again the parchment fades… The inscription on the bow mentions: The finely crafted ironwood bow is only carried by members of the Rangers guild. Only rangers of high status carry this bow… The Ranger Elders, your mentor(s) and Guild Officers report regularly to the bow smiths about your progress, your accomplishments and your Ranger deeds. Each event, award and action impacts your bow. Some Rangers wait, for this reason, to finish their bow, hoping it will be stronger, more in tune with their abilities and strengths, and as a result, a perfect fit. When you feel you are prepared to earn your own Ironwood Ranger Bow, having met all the requirements, earning the necessary gold* and proving your willingness to carry it with Ranger Pride, seek out a Guild Officer for assistance. Please speak to a mentor if you have questions, and be fully prepared before you ask to pursue your Ironwood Ranger Bow. *The bow smiths must have a gold deposit from you in the amount of 75,000 gold. This ensures a new bow will be started for the next young Ranger like you. You must bring this gold with you when you are ready to finish your bow. Please see the Guild Polcies page for the rest of the requirements. |
