The Story of Ashia
Its seems it has come to such a time that my story is to be told I was hoping I could hold off for as long as possible due to how boring my tale really is, I mean I look around me an everyone has such colourful lives with great tales of heroism and sad tales of sorrow and then there’s me, I had a pretty uneventful life I guess that’s why I joined rangers.
You see my mother an father were elves but I figure you already guessed that when you saw me it’s the ears they always give it away, anyway I wander off track my mother brought in some gold as a seamstress and my father brought us food, clothing he even built our house, life was good we stayed away from cities preferring the more peaceful life of the woodland. From an early age my mother school me in that arts of reading, writing and the overall mental skills needed in life, while my father taught me how to track and live off the woodland (I was a master at find juicy berries an managing to smear them on my clothes to my mothers dismay) he also tried to teach me to hunt but I never had the stomach for it, I would quickly disappear into the trees covering my tracks any time I could tell he was going to try and take me hunting after a while he finally gave up, yet I carried on running into the trees for I’d fallen in love with the forest favouring the sounds and things I saw there plus I kinda enjoyed the sense of solitude no worries no hassle all alone in the middle of nowhere (noone to hear you burp an tell you to say excuse me), when one day I stumble upon a human with a bow, he seemed to be trying to hit some type of target he’d stuck to a tree. Now I’d seen a bow before, my father had one but I had never been allowed to play with it he mentioned, the item intrigued me so without thought I jumped down from a tree behind him and walked carefree towards the man. I shouted greetings stranger quite loudly making him jump and turn towards me lowering his bow, he looked kinda startled, I stopped and smiled thinking this is the perfect time to test my common language skills, so I proceeded to babble away trying to explain who I was etc etc, when after a few moments of confusion the human laughed wiggled his fingers and spoke in clear elven tongue ‘greetings little one I think you made need to brush up on your language skills’. I laughed nodding and we sat an talked a while, I eventually managed to ask him about his bow, he explained that he made them for a living and had just brought out a few to test before he would be able to sell them, then to my surprise he let my use one teaching me how to hold the bow an where to place the fingers when drawing back an arrow, he stepped back an I let my first arrow fly ……… Bullseye I hit square in the middle of the target! Well that was it I was hooked! Every month when new bow’s were to be tested I would wait for him to arrive eagerly an test each one, as time passed by I heard stories that the most skilled people with bow’s were rangers so I worked on my hunting skill’s with my father which now with the aid of a bow seemed much less stomach wrenching and readied myself to become an adventure my parents were worried naturally but knowing how resourceful I could be finally gave they blessings for me to leave in pursuit of a rangers life
Well to cut a long story short here I am. Obviously I found the guild or you wouldn’t be reading this Hope to many of you didn’t fall asleep an the ones that did, didn’t snore to loudly
