Kidnapped at age 16, I was brought by boat to some far land to serve a race of beings who to this day I know not their name and have since never seen one again. My chore to one group of these beings was to hunt giant rats and prepare them to be eaten. The slavers were not overly cruel to myself and the other slaves but still we were prisoners and I knew I had to escape. So over the next year I secretly fashioned a raft which I hid within the enormous woodpiles maintained to keep the cooking fires raging at all times. Summoning my courage one moonless night I snuck away and dragged the raft as quietly as I could to the water - though as I was dragging I tripped over what felt like a body. The body turned out to be a barely alive dark elf female. I slid the raft out onto the water, carried the elf placing her on the raft and pushed out into the waters. Luck was with us during the next 6 days the water was calm, the monsters of the sea seemed to ignore us and the beautiful elf regained her strength telling me her name was Sidell but she remembered nothing prior to waking on the raft. We landed on a rocky beach, ditched the raft and made our way up this east coast road and entered a thick forest creating a make-shift campsite in a dense area. Over the next couple of years our relationship grew as did our love of the forest. We saw traces of others but did not reveal we were in the wood. We hid from the trolls and other beasts as we explored the forest ultimately stumbling upon the Ranger guild almost by accident - the guild beckoned to us for we knew we wanted to remain in the forest forever and protect it. Thus we searched for the Stag finally locating it and to our total relief and pleasure were welcomed warmly into the guild. |
