The Story of Bela
Hello Rangers. I am Bela . I havent met many of you but i am looking forward to eventually meeting you all. I believe knowing a little about a stranger helps when you meet them for the first time.
With that thought in mind i am here to tell you my history.
My ancestors came from the city Woodtop in the lands. It eventually got crowded in that small area so a clan decided to move just a little further way to Nimloth forest. There they grew in size and made for themselves a happy home. In my clan when a child is born they are taken back to woodtop to visit the oracle. There the oracle will view the new born child and send a thought into the parents minds about the childs future. The parents will then take the child home and a tiny tatoo is placed beside the left eyebrow if the child is a female or the right eyebrow if the child is a male.
There are several tattoos.
One can be of a flower. This usually is the most common among the children. It is hard to see but there are tiny thorns along the stem of the tattoo as well. This shows that the child will be happy yet strong and a capable hunter . Another may have the tattoo of a forest creature. Many with this tattoo will follow the path of a druid. Few will bear the tattoo of a bolt of lightning. Those wearing that tattoo have only one thing in mind and that is hunting and killing .Whether it be forest monsters or another clan that has attacked us.Lightning bearers often go berserk and need to be avoided at such times except by an elder of the clan.
There are many aspects to the tattooing but I think you get the gist of what i mean . My life was fairly normal growing up. I married a young clansman when i was 16 years old and we were very happy for a year. I say a year because he was killed shortly after our one year anniversary by a troll invasion. We had never seen trolls such as these and many of our clan were lost that day.It took me a long time to get over his death. I am still not totally over it for i loved him very much. While mourning him i left our home and wandered about the lands. I saw many strange and unusual things. I met strangers from all races. I beleive now, this leaving the clan was the best thing i could of done. A pity it took the death of my husband for it to happen .
Enough about sorrow. During the latter part of my travels i came across the ranger Seth Proudfoot. He was a kindly soul and we talked quite abit.It was from him that i learnt more about the redwood and rangers that lived within it.I thought long and hard about all that he told me. I wasnt going to give up my clan completely but in the end i decided joining the rangers in the redwood would be a new beginning for me. Some place to start my life anew. After all i was only 18 years old. Much to young to give up on life.
As per his instructions i sought out the spiritual stag and slew it .I then made my way back to the redwood where Seth welcomed me and sent me inside to see my new home. I have been very happy since i joined the redwood rangers and i look forward to meeting many of you . ::curtseys deeply:: Bela
