Hello Rangers ! I have begun my journey with getting a Mentor. Dimetrios I am a sprite. When i first entered these lands i was a bit dazed and comfused. I seemed to have these vague memories of someone really big with a two edged axe laying on thier shoulder. I dont know if these memories are of an old friend or perhaps myself years ago. I looked at my now small body and thought if it had been me its an ironic twist of fate. I looked down and saw i held a small bow in my hands and it seemed perfectly natural for it to be there. I tried shooting it just to see how it went and i must say it was embarassing . the arrow practically fell right at my feet ! I wandered thru my new home town of tranos and found a place called the adventurers guild. A man there ,for a small price,taught me the basics of using a bow. He then pointed out the way to a place he called the beginners dungeons and told me to try hunting there until i got the hang of using my bow. I entered the dungeon and like he said there were creatures there for me to hunt and practice on. I stayed there for a while and got fairly confident about using my bow. It still took me a little while to get the arrow on there right and fire it but at least i could hit what i was aiming at .I decided it was time for me to go out exploring this new land i found myself in.Being a sprite i flew over a few lakes and rivers and made my way to a place called dirmloth forest. I stood outside it looking in for a while and then decided what the heck.Its only a forest ..right? things went pretty easy for a bit as i flitted around looking at the trees and plants. Not a creature in sight. I realise now just how lucky i was then. I entered into this glade feeling a strange tingling over my body . Suddenly there was this stag ,a spiritual stag coming towards me. I flew up above it yelling hey ! hold on a minute. It didnt seem to know common language for it just came after me again. I dodged it again wondering what to do.It didnt seem to show any signs of being friendly. I tried leaving the glade but it barred my way out. With a deep sigh i figured I would have to kill it. I didnt want to.It was truely beautiful in all its might and glory.It took me a few arrows to finally finish the deed and once it was dead i landed beside it and gently stroked its muzzle. I am sorry this had to be i said to the stag but fate works in mysterious way so maybe there was a purpose to all this. It slowly vanished underneath my hand until there was nothing left of it to see. With the way clear i again started wandering in the forest. There seemed to be another clearing up ahead and with caution i approached it slowly.There was a man in it standing by a giant redwood tree. Okay i thought this seems harmless enough.I flew over by the man and hovered a short distance away from his face. To my amazement he knew my name! Greetings Flitterbe he said. You have passed the trial to enter into the rangers guild. Stunned i asked him..i have? Indeed he replied. You have slain the spirtual stag. I stuttered out a surprised y-yes i d-did. then lass you are free to join the rangers guild and enter into the Redwood. If you wish it? I hovered there a moment thinking about his offer. I really didnt have a place to call home and something about that giant redwood standing there so strong and mighty appealed to me. Taking a deep breath i told the man i do indeed wish to join the rangers. He gave me a deep bow and said, Seth Proudfoot be my name and let me be the first to welcome you to your new home. I landed and gave him a small curtsey and said Flitterbe Silverstar at your service and thank you for the warm welcome. I flew up and into the tree and there i meet Destyni and soon after Dimetrios. They made me feel so welcomed i knew i was going to love being here. Destyni even hid away all the fly swatters !!! I cant wait to meet more of you and let me warn you now i have a stick i use to whack big peoples ankles with if they even try to get close to my wings ! See you in the redwood ! Flitterbe |
